STC Innovative processes for paste desulphurization (U4Lead) and for hydrometallurgical production of nanostructured lead oxides (Lead3)

The STC presentation is focused on the benefits of two patented process owned by STC : U4lead is an innovative process for the paste desulphurization using an amino compound instead of the more traditional process which uses caustic soda or soda ash. The comparison and the advantages are discussed. Once the paste is desulphurized and Lead carbonate is obtained one interesting alternative to the traditional smelting in rotary furnace is the production of pure nanostructured lead oxides through the Lead3 hydrometallurgical process. Test result will be presented.

Bio

Alberto Bergamaschini

After graduation in Industrial Chemistry in 1981 in Milan and a post-graduation specialization in Environmental Engineering, he started his career in the field of engineering, design, construction and management of environment protection plant (water, wastewater, air and waste treatment).

Since 2000, he is providing plants and technological solutions to the battery recycling and secondary lead industries initially as Project Manager and, since 2010, in the commercial department of engineering companies.

In 2019 he joined STC as Commercial Director.

STC is an Italian Engineering and Contracting Company that supplies Plants, Equipment and Services for batteries recycling, lead production, water and emissions treatment.

Sabrina Urgese

Sabrina graduated in Languages and Cultures for Business in 2013 at the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” (PU)- Italy. After 5 years of professional experiences abroad (Northern Ireland, Australia, England, Scotland etc.), she decided to come back to Italy in 2018 to start a new working adventure in STC S.r.l. as CEO Assistant. Since then, she has been gradually deepening her knowledge in the fascinating field of Lead Acid Battery Recycling and, in 2020, she has been included in the Sales and Marketing team of the Italian EPCM company.
