Navigating EU legislation on lead: The battery regulation and beyond
Agenda for
25-27 June
2025

Lisa Allen
Director of Regulatory Affairs, International Lead Association, United Kingdom
The EU Battery Regulation, the first comprehensive piece of product legislation introduced under the European Green Deal, is now entering its implementation phase. Policymakers are shaping the secondary legislation which will define the practical details, but overlapping transition periods and deadlines, and varying requirements by battery type, can make navigating the legislation challenging. Lisa’s presentation will demystify the road ahead, outlining key obligations and opportunities for the lead and lead battery industry. She will also provide insights into broader EU legislation affecting lead, including the REACH Revision and updates to End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) legislation.
